High Strength Connectors (PDF)
PenSafe has developed a line of
ANSI Z 359.1-07ED compliant high strength connectors. The PenSafe PincerTM is revolutionary alternative to snap hooks. Unlike snap hooks it does not have a gate, but instead has a patented interlocking closure that even when twisted and improperly loaded can withstand gate side and gate face loads of 3,600lbs and remain functional. The PenSafe Pincer is easier to use than traditional snap hooks, as the opening remains clear of fingers and gloves. The PenSafe Pincer has benefits for applications in

Form Snap Hooks (PDF)
Similar to regular snap hooks form snap hooks are a class 1 connecting component that consists of a hook-shaped body with a self-closing, self-locking gate but they have a larger opening, typically from 1-3/4 inches (44 mm) to 2-1/2 (64 mm).

Swivel Hooks (PDF)
Swivel hooks are a class 1 connecting component that consists of a hook-shaped body with a self-closing, self-locking gate as well as a swiveling eye to prevent the rope or strap from becoming twisted.

Pole Strap Hooks (PDF)
Pole strap hooks are a class 1 connecting component that consists of a hook-shaped body with a self-closing, self-locking gate as well as a modified eye area to allow a belt to sit flat without bunching up.

Carabiners (PDF)
Carabiners are similar in function to snap hooks. They are a class 1 connector with a trapezoidal or oval body with a self-closing, self-locking gate. Often they are engineered with a view to minimizing their weight and require two hands, or nimble fingers, to attach. They are commonly used for recreational climbing.
D Ring (PDF)
PenSafe carries a full range of drop forged and stamped rings. The two most common shapes are O and D shaped. They are used integrally in harnesses for the attachment of positioning systems and lanyards.
Buckles (PDF)
Buckles are a class 2 connector used for attaching strap or webbing segments together or to themselves.
Anchorage Connectors (PDF)
Anchorage connectors are bolted or attached in some way to permanent structures so they can have a line or hook attached. Often they are forged so they are extremely strong.
